Nottingham Park Community Library
FPR began renting space in the Outreach Center of West Houston in 2008. Soon after we moved into the community the Kendall Branch Library relocated to a great new facility on Eldridge, but unfortunately its resources became less accessible during the weekdays to many children and youth. Blue Willow Bookshop partnered with us on a ‘Launch the Library’ initiative with the goal of getting books to children. We soon began filling up our space with new and used books while our after school programs grew. In 2011-2012, we remodeled our space and opened the Nottingham Park Community Library. It is now home to over 8,000 books, a computer lab, games and has become a hub where children, and parents, from all sides of the community, gather every day after school to utilize resources, learn, and play. Last year, an average of 129 students a day received 513 hours of after school enrichment through the library.

In order for your child to be at the library after school they must have a FPR Participant Agreement & FPR Library & After School Registration completed by a parent or guardian.
We also offer a variety of MAT Clubs. Mastering Arts Together Clubs are led by volunteers in our community who are passionate about sharing their skills and wisdom with children and youth. MAT Clubs run mid September - mid November and January - April. Throughout the year children and youth have the opportunity to explore cooking, college readiness, art, sewing, dance, yoga, and more.
In May 2019, we were able to provide college scholarships for 4 deserving FPR Participants. We are committed to growing up with children in ways that empower them through caring relationships and give them tools to succeed. Applications for 2020 Scholarships will be available in February.
