Summer Programs

FamilyPoint offers a number of Summer Programs for students of all ages.  The goal of our programs is to offer students fun, enriching, and quality opprtutnties throughout the summer.  Information about specific programs is listed below, as are registration instructions.  Many of our camps and programs are space limited, and spots are given on a first come first serve basis.

To register, download forms from the links below and return them to the Nottingham Park Community Library (in the Outreach Center of West Houston, 725 Bateswood Dr, 77079), or come in to The Library and pick up a form in person.  REMEMBER, there are scholarships available for all programs for anyone who needs them.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities

 

Elementary

CREATIVE ARTS CAMP, $25

Campers will work with professional artists to develop skills of expression in the arts.   June 5-9 & June 12-16 // 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

 

SPORTS CAMP, $25

Campers will work with some the area’s top coaches in baseball, basketball, and soccer.  Lunches will be provided each day.  This year's camp will be at Stratford High School.      June 19-22 // 9 AM - 12:30 PM

 

SEA OF STORIES: SUMMER READING PROGRAM, $Free

Participants will engage with literature and their world through games, activities, and reading with mentors.  June 26 - July 27, Mon- Thurs // 10 AM - 12 PM

 

LOVE IN ACTION CAMP, $5

For age 3 through 10. Christ Memorial Lutheran ECLC is hosting a VBS for children.  June 26 - 29 // 9 AM - 12 PM

 

DANCE CAMP, $10

Campers will have fun dancing each day and learning a routine for an end of week performance. Girls Only (3rd Grade - 5th).  July 10 - 13 // 1 PM - 3 PM

 

THEATRE CAMP, $10

Campers will work with talented thespians from Stratford’s Playhouse to develop acting skills and create a performance for the end of the week.  (4th - 8th Graders).  July 17-20 // 1 PM - 3 PM

 

SEWING CAMP, $20

Campers will work with skilled sewers to learn how to use a sewing machine to complete multiple projects. (3rd Grade - 9th Grade).  July 24 - 27 // 1 PM - 3 PM

 

POOL TRIPS (Aquatics Recreation), $Free

Going to Nottingham Forest Club Pool, where life guards will be on duty.   June 26, July 6, July 13, July 20 // 12:30 PM - 2 PM

 

PIANO LESSONS, $5

For 3rd grade and up. Space is limited for 4 private lessons for 15 minutes and 2 group lessons for 30 minutes.  June 6 - July 25, Tuesdays // 1 PM - 3 PM

 

Middle & High School

FAKING IT, $25

Participants will engage with literature and their world through games, activities, and reading. Every Friday we will take a field trip to somewhere in or around Houston. (Space is limited to 20).  June 28 - July 21, Wed - Thurs, Friday (field trips, times TBA) // 12:30 PM - 3 PM

 

SPEED & AGILITY CAMP, $25

Five week Summer Conditioning Program for students who participate in organized sports.  (7th grad and up.  Space limited to 20).  June 26 - July 27, Mon-Thurs // 10 AM - 12 PM

 

THEATRE CAMP, $10

Health & Nutrition

FREE LUNCHES

During the Summer FamilyPoint partners with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department to provide FREE, nutritious lunches to children of all ages.  The lunches are served at Outreach Center of West Houston.  June 5 - July 27, Mon - Thurs // 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
