As the fall weather blew in the children found a new enthusiasm and energy for playing outside. The volleyball court turned into a sand pit filled with castle building, castle conquering, and many battles that ended in sand covered children, and a few tears. Lynne, our Program Assistant, used imaginative play to redirect the children’s energy.

Some of the kids cleverly reused the pancake paper cups (Kristina Early brought delicious sweet potato pancakes) to make a village within a kingdom. William was concentrating on a mountain region, while Kendall and Xander created a river to go around the kingdom like a moat. Victoria came up with idea of sprinkling sand into it to simulate water and waves. Lori and Victoria worked on a farm area connected by a road complete with a trading area for the animals.

They were all working so well together as a team and it was so wonderful to see kids being kids. It was a beautiful glimpse of FamilyPoint’s mission becoming reality. These are the future city planners, farmers, doctors, accountants, and teachers. They are the kingdom builders!
